Andreas Lichter
Andreas Lichter, born in 1985 near Frankfurt am Main, grew up in a family of art lovers. From an early age he was in close contact with the visual arts, and it soon became his heart's desire to deal with and surround himself with art. Lichter has been inspired by a wide variety of artists in Europe and abroad. These include important pop artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring and Robert Indiana, but also the comic artist Stan Lee and Volker Kühn have left their mark on him.
Andreas Lichter took over the display case-like frames from the latter, which today form the basis for his three-dimensional picture objects. Following his passion for art, Lichter has been a guest in numerous international museums, such as those in The Hague and Madrid. On his many travels he also visited the famous Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice, the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and the Picasso Museum in Barcelona. Lichter has also traveled to renowned museums outside Europe to experience as much art as possible.
These include the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Wynwood Walls in Miami, Florida, a unique outdoor museum that presents street art murals by artists from all over the world, some of them as tall as a house, under palm trees. On the American west coast, in California, Lichter was also inspired by the live art world in the cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco. The cities on California's Pacific coast are known for their numerous artist studios, art galleries and museums.
