Freed from Tartar (Volker Kühn)
"Freed from Tartar" by Volker Kühn is a humorous homage to the radiant smile. Featuring a golden tooth as its central element, the artwork humorously expresses the relief after a visit to the dentist—a unique gift for dentists or health-conscious individuals.
Volker Kühn's miniature worlds depict life in all its facets. He explores virtually every aspect of his work. He portrays interpersonal relationships, the minor and major catastrophes of everyday life, and wordplay with wit and humor, while also capturing and reinterpreting the diversity of art.
Volker Kühn loves the clarity of form in Mondrian and Malevich, but also the action paintings of Jackson Pollock and the color temperament of Sam Francis. He appreciates the reduced objects of Brancusi and is fascinated by the blue of Yves Klein.
He creates small stages with a great attention to detail. His inexhaustible wealth of ideas is fueled by his sensitive powers of observation and zest for life.
